1980s

In 1987 we began our journey in Ginza, Tokyo, Japan as "Time Module Inc. (TMI)".  Since then, we have worked with our affiliated factories in designing, developing, and producing a diverse and innovative range of watch movements for clients across the global watch industry.

1990s

In the 1990s, our company took strategic steps to broaden its international reach and adapted to shifting lifestyle trends by launching diverse product lines.  We established an office in Hong Kong in 1993 to accelerate international growth. In 1994, we introduced the VD5 series of standard chronograph movements designed for active, sports-leisure wearers, alongside the VC series of slim, ultra-compact movements tailored for feminine styling and elegant social occasions. These innovations reflected our dedication to precision that complements modern living.

2000s

In the 2000s, our company advanced in two key directions: product innovation and environmental responsibility. We broadened our offerings with the 2000 debut of the popular VJ series of slim movements and, in 2008, entered the mechanical market with the NH series. Parallel to this, we strengthened our eco-conscious practices: all quartz movements met the RoHS directive since 2005, and since 2008, featured mercury-free and lead-free batteries.  The NH series also supported these values, offering an energy-efficient alternative that reduces battery waste.

2010s

The 2010s saw our product line evolve with innovative movements that encouraged expressive watch design.  In 2010, we introduced the VK series premium quartz chronographs with mechanical-like features. The VD3 series dual time movements and VH series sweep second movements followed in 2015, adding practical functionality and visual refinement. In 2016, we launched the NH7 series skeleton mechanical movements, emphasizing both style and craftsmanship for a decade defined by individuality.

2020s

The 2020s marked a new phase of transformation and adaptability. In 2020, we adopted the "TMI" brand marking to unify with our corporate name, reinforcing a clear and consistent identity across global markets. In 2022, we launched the NH34 GMT mechanical movement to meet the needs of today’s increasingly mobile lifestyles. As the market continues to evolve, we remain committed to introducing stable, high-quality products that reflect both tradition and timely innovation.
